Suuit
Suuit es un espacio creado por la artista Luisa Chillida (San Sebastián, 1981) que reúne las dos ramas de producción de la artista: arte y artes decorativas.
Aunque la intencionalidad y el desarrollo de estas disciplinas es muy diferente, están profundamente unidas y siempre han formado parte de su trabajo.
En esta plataforma se pueden encontrar obras de la artista realizadas con diferentes técnicas como el grabado, la escultura o la acuarela, junto a objetos de cerámica, madera o joyería.
“El medio que utilizo me influye mucho y me lleva por unos caminos o me invita a otros. Existen temas recurrentes en mi trabajo, como los seres vivos, la naturaleza, las formas orgánicas, la representación o las creencias. Estos a menudo se entrelazan o dan paso a otros. Lo mismo sucede con las influencias de otros artistas, corrientes, culturas y periodos. Me siento atraída por el arte antropológico, las artes pictóricas y escultóricas y las artesanías tradicionales. Existen cosas tan bellas y gente tan brillante que me resulta difícil elegir y tampoco encuentro el porqué de hacerlo. En un intento por desearlas cerca, las homenajeo, las estudio y transformo, para así entenderlas y en secreto también para rodearme de ellas.”

Suuit is a space created by the artist Luisa Chillida (San Sebastián, 1981) that brings together the two production streams of the artist: art and decorative arts.
Although the intention and development of these disciplines is very different, they are deeply linked and have always been part of her work.
On this platform you can find artworks by the artist made with different techniques such as engraving, sculpture or watercolor along with objects such as ceramics, wood and jewelry.
“The medium I use influences me a lot and leads me down some paths or invites me to others. There are recurring themes in my work, such as living beings, nature, organic forms, representation or beliefs. These often intertwine or give way to others. The same happens with the influences of other artists, currents, cultures and periods. I feel attracted to anthropological art, pictorial and sculptural arts and traditional crafts. There are such beautiful things and such brilliant people that it is difficult for me to choose and I do not find the reason to do so either. In an attempt to wish them close, I honor them, study them and transform them, in order to understand them and secretly also to surround myself with them.”
